Bob W Chueca is home to newly-renovated short-stay apartments on Fuencarral Street, a well-known shopping and pedestrian street nestled in one of the city’s most happening areas. The property has a prime location just off Madrid’s thoroughfare, Gran Via, and is only a short walk away from the city’s top attractions and hidden gems. Chueca is one of Madrid’s most trendy areas, filled with small shops, restaurants, cafes, and everyday amenities in addition to a vibrant nightlife. Located in the heart of the city in the larger Malasaña neighbourhood, Chueca is extremely central, home to one of Europe’s biggest pride parades, and an overall hip place to be year-round. Bob W Chueca is walking distance to Madrid’s biggest attractions: less than 5 minutes from Gran Via, only 8 minutes from Puerta del Sol, and 15 minutes from Plaza Mayor.

Vibrant and authentically Madrid design

Chueca is a free-spirited and accepting neighbourhood where you can have fun any day of the week. Bob’s very own designer Camilo – who has called many places in the world home, including Chueca – was inspired by the area’s colourful, rebellious and sexually liberated La Movida Madrileña social movement of the 70s and 80s, which brought forth a new era of art, music, fashion and film after the Franco dictatorship ended. 

My design for Fuencarral is inspired by the modern day freedom of expression in the Chueca neighbourhood and its transformation throughout history. We want people who stay with Bob to feel free to be themselves here without any judgement.

Each apartment features decor made in Spain including terracotta vases, modular shelving units from BrickBox, and lounge chairs and sofa beds in our 1-bedroom apartments from Francés Bañon. You’ll also find ceramic coffee cups from Madrid-based chef and restaurateur Cristina Oria’s homeware line, along with local coffee and Madrid’s typical violet caramels from Cafés Pozo. 

Premium beds by Matri, made in Europe using largely solar energy and certified European materials, are topped by on-trend yet retro tiled bed heads built for Bob by carpenters in Madrid. The bed heads are inspired by visual artist Jean-Pierre Raynaud, who became known in the 1970s for his iconic work with white tiles.

A more sustainable choice 

No matter the location, every stay with Bob W is 100% climate-neutral and each apartment includes environmentally-friendly touches. In Chueca, apartments feature recycling bins, reusable water bottles and tote bags, and secondhand wine glasses handpicked by Bob and friends from El Rastro flea market in Madrid.
