Helsinki, 5 December 2023 – We’re excited to announce the addition of another new member of the Bob W family, as we continue our European takeover. Say hej to Copenhagen and Bob W Østerbro.

This means we are now open in 10 countries and 16 cities on the continent, the opening of Bob W Østerbro sees our fast-paced growth continue and takes our portfolio to over 3,000 serviced apartments.

Our new property in Copenhagen — a former chocolate factory converted into 165 beautiful studio and 1-bedroom apartments — lies in the eastern neighbourhood of Østerbro, a vibrant area that offers an authentic Danish experience alongside the tranquility of the vast coastline and lakes.

Inside Bob W Østerbro local design experts Third.space and the Bob W design team have combined the calmness of the neighbourhood's nearby lakes and coastline with the industrial heritage of the building. Graphical window frames and dark details in the room harmonise with cocoa brown colour tones and local designs provide tasteful accents, such as the seductive Superpose pendant above the dining table, the iconic Benny Frandsen Ball reading light — a Danish design classic from the 70s — along with a recycled rug and sustainably made chairs, locally crafted ceramic mugs and soft decorative textile in the rooms create a warm and cosy feeling. Noteworthy is the iconic hanging mobile from a 75 year-old Danish company, featured in international museum collections.

Each Bob W apartment incorporates our own bespoke design and technology that give guests the Best of Both Worlds; the consistency and quality of a lifestyle hotel, coupled with the “live like a local” experience of an actual home.

Our guests benefit from our usual slick contactless service, including a digital front desk experience, as well as 24/7 customer service and neighbourhood tips on places to visit and eat in the local neighbourhood. Add-on services are also on offer including breakfast, gym and the option of super early check-ins or late check-outs.

With sustainability firmly rooted in our ethos, priority has been given to local, environmentally responsible suppliers. Furniture items have been sourced from local creatives or secondhand suppliers where possible, and eco-friendly toiletries are provided as standard. As we talk about in our latest 2023 sustainability report, carbon emissions for each guest night are shared next to each apartment on our website,  so that our eco-conscious guests can make an informed choice when booking.
