Bob has teamed up with local award-winning design studio KOKO3 to give Bob W Kaarti its unique style. Inspired by Helsinki's Kaartinkaupunki neighbourhood, the interior blends comfy functionality with cool, art-inspired details custom-designed for this property. It’s a sustainable space that captures the district's classic charm while adding a modern, artistic twist. Think of that "classy lady rocking swanky sneakers"—that was the vibe we aimed for in the interior design.

It’s all about the love for the local heritage and stories. From the one-of-kind carpets to the fabrics used and the artwork on the wallpapers, everything is designed to have a direct connection with the Kaarti neighbourhood - with many original architectural features kept and restored to shine again - and wrapped around a strong message of sustainability and positive innovation

The new Bob W Kaarti is making its debut at the Hotel Rivoli Jardin, an absolute 80’s gem tucked away in the prestigious Kaarti district. The building was built by powerhouse socialite Ragni Rissanen, nicknamed the ‘Grand Old Lady’ of Finnish hospitality.

The new Bob W Kaarti is making its debut at the Hotel Rivoli Jardin, an absolute gem tucked away in Helsinki's hip Kaarti district. This spot isn’t just any old hotel—it was dreamed up by Ragni Rissanen, a local legend nicknamed the ‘Grand Old Lady’ of Finnish hospitality. Been ruling the roost since the swinging ‘60s—talk about having a blast from the past!

Back in 1984, when the doors first swung open, it was all about that “Parisian-like” charm, right down to the rooftop vibes, hence the name Rivoli Jardin. The role of Bob W + KOKO3 was to bring that charm back again: featuring 55 studios and suites with kitchenettes or kitchens, and all of them are equipped to host short or longer stays. Suitable for all kinds of guests, just lounging or working there, there is a social kitchen, winter garden, a washeteria, and a housing cooperative-style sauna - just as Helsinki locals are accustomed to.

The new digs still rock those Rivoli vibes, with upcycled decor and nods to the building’s groovy history, all to honour Ragni’s legacy. They even kept the ‘Rivoli Green’ she adored—and guess what? It’s Bob’s favourite colour now too.

Starting with a spruce-up to make this place one of Helsinki’s top sustainable buildings. Yep, you heard that right—Bob W Kaarti snagged a LEED Gold Rating, which is no small feat for an old stunner like this.

And it’s not just about going green. The new digs still rock those Rivoli vibes, with upcycled decor and nods to the building’s groovy history, all to honour Ragni’s legacy. They even kept the ‘Rivoli Green’ she adored—and guess what? It’s Bob’s favourite colour now too.

Oh, and here’s a fun tidbit: room 605 was a regular haunt for Erkki Toivanen, a famed journalist and the voice of Finland in London for ages. He wrote “Taking an Evening Walk in London,” which is kind of perfect for a place that’s all about travel and culture, don’t you think?
