Bob W signs large Porto property as operator accelerates Iberian expansion
31 October 2025 – Helsinki, Finland – Tech-powered hospitality operator Bob W has secured a 80-unit serviced apartment building in a central location in the city of Porto, marking its first signing in Portugal and a key milestone in the company’s Iberian growth strategy.
The project underscores Bob W’s confidence in Portugal’s hospitality sector and its long-term potential as a leading European travel and corporate hub.
Under the leadership of Badis Boudjakdji, Director of Expansion for Southern Europe, the company is targeting urban locations across Portugal and Spain, with ongoing negotiations in Lisbon, Madrid, Valencia, Málaga, Alicante and Barcelona.
“The Iberian Peninsula is a perfect match for our brand,” said Niko Karstikko, Co-founder and CEO of Bob W. “Portugal and Spain combine vibrant tourism, a growing base of business travellers, and solid economic fundamentals. These are markets where our hybrid concept — merging the comfort of home with hotel-quality service — truly resonates.”

A growing presence in Portugal and Spain
Already operating multiple properties in Madrid, Bob W is now establishing its presence in Portugal with the new Porto property, which will anchor its local portfolio. The tech-powered serviced apartments will blend local design, sustainability, and seamless digital guest experiences – hallmarks of the Bob W brand.
“We’re focused on destinations with strong tourism dynamics and diversified demand — not only leisure but also B2B and extended-stay guests,” added Boudjakdji.
“Lisbon and Porto have evolved into sophisticated, year-round destinations. Spain, meanwhile, offers a robust mix of mature and emerging markets where we can scale efficiently.”
