Copenhagen, 3 June 2025 – We’ve just signed a long-term lease for a 7,500 sq m former police station in Copenhagen’s iconic Meatpacking District, in partnership with Nordic real estate investor Slättö

The heritage building, located in the culinary hotspot of Kødbyen, will be converted into a 169-unit flagship Bob W property, set to open in October 2027.

Marking one of our largest deals to date, the agreement with Slättö represents a significant investment in Denmark, further strengthening our presence in the Nordics.

We’ve already collaborated with Slättö on several projects, including the award-winning Bob W Helsinki Kaarti, recognised for its excellence in design and sustainability. The latest partnership reflects our shared commitment to revitalise underused buildings with sustainable, design-centric hospitality concepts.

Originally built as a police headquarters, the building’s industrial façade and structural character will be preserved and thoughtfully reimagined. The interiors will feature locally sourced artwork, furnishings, and collaborations with artisans in the area, creating an authentic design rooted in the surrounding neighbourhood.

Once complete, guests can stay in one of Europe’s most creative neighbourhoods for days, weeks or months. Alongside the serviced studios and one-bedroom apartments people love us for, the site will include social and co-working lounges for those mixing work and travel, as well as a restaurant. As always, our signature smart room controls and our seamless digital guest journey will keep things running smoothly.

Bob W Copenhagen Vesterbro is set to become a key part of our growth strategy in northern Europe and one of the most substantial single-site aparthotel developments in the region.

Niko Karstikko, Co-founder and CEO of Bob W, said:

“Copenhagen has been an important city for us, not only as the largest Nordic travel destination, but for its global leadership in sustainability, design, and culture. With a successful property already operating here, we’re proud to deepen our roots in the capital.
“The Meatpacking District reflects the kind of energy and creativity we look for in our locations, and this project marks a true flagship moment for Bob W. We’re excited to partner again with Slättö to breathe new life into such an iconic site and help shape the future of hospitality in the Nordics.”

Erik Moller, Head of Hotels at Slättö said:

“This project aligns closely with our focus on revitalising central, underutilised assets in collaboration with best-in-class operators. Bob W brings a unique blend of design, tech, and sustainability to hospitality, and we’re excited to extend our partnership with them on such a prominent site in Copenhagen. The transformation of this historic building will contribute lasting value to the district and the city as a whole.”

The Copenhagen Vesterbro property adds to our growing presence in the city, where we already have 165 units. With this latest signing, our pan-European portfolio now exceeds 5,000 units.

We’re actively looking for more opportunities across the Nordics. Right now, we’re engaging with asset owners, developers, and municipal stakeholders across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and more widely across Europe, to source long-term lease or acquisition projects.
